I love being good company especially when its showcasing one of my favourite pieces - the Bird Clock.
Being mentioned on the same page as 10 Corso di Como is also a thrill as I was able to go there a few years back and found it to truly be a mecca for those who like to be inspired by fresh and often avant garde design. There is a great little bar opposite it packed with good looking, well dressed Italians. Yum!

Dank Street - wrap up

Hello, im feeling kinda dazed- in a just been hit by a bus way - after a great day at Dank Street Festival. I think we can call the design mart a success as people were piling through the door and embracing the range and quality of products stemming from the Sydney design community.
This is the kind of market we need on a regular basis - the punters feel good as they get there hands on some great products and the designers like me love meeting the people who love to wear or use or creations.

DANK STREET FESTIVAL

This year Dank Street festival has grown to incorporate a designer market, so once you're satisfied your gourmet cravings wander down to the PYD building to check a feast of designers.
We'll be there enjoying the atmosphere.

FUZZ LOVES #1 - Zaha Hadid

A remarkable architect and designer renown for her sculptural buildings and interiors.
She is changing the way we look at our built environment and how we chose to interact with it.
A true artisan this is her sculpture being featured in the beyond limits exhibtion in the UK.

Rose Street Artist Market

Im excited to be heading to Melbourne this weekend and will setting up shop at Rose St Markets in Fitzroy, come and see me. The markets are a mixture emerging and more established artists so a wide range of work can be seen with plenty eager punters keen to see what the latest offerings are from local creatives. The Market is based on similar projects in London, Berlin and in particular the DUMBO Collective in Brooklyn which focus on getting good art and design into the hands of people like you.

As its in Melbourne I thought i"d better check the weather forecast and Im pleased to report that those grey clouds are about to be nudged out by some fabulous spring weather (Sunny, but fresh!) - Yay for Melbourne.

Suffering Sappho!

Suffering Sappho! It had to happen, Wonder Woman the movie is scheduled for release sometime in 09, we should be seeing lots of accessories referencing the 70's Feminist and pop culture icon. So don't be throwing out those shiny trinkets that your held onto in the hope that they will get a second coming - they will. We still have no idea on who will be filling Lynda Carters shoes. There has been talk of Megan Gale - she's got the look - a bit short on the hutzpah though. I'm thinking that a Toughened up Jessica Beale could work. Fingers crossed for smart casting.
Fuzz is well ahead of the game with the appropriate W.W. accessory. Our metal cuffs in gold or Charcoal will help to channel the Wonder Woman spirit within every gal!

Frilled with Fashion

From catwalk to the streets there will be plenty of frills about this Spring/Summer. The likes of Zac Posen, Stella McCartney and John Galliano all featured frilly dresses, shirts and blouses in there recent catwalk shows. Functional fashionistas are more likely to be wearing something a little like the examples below.

If you like florals watch out there will be plenty florals with frills - argh it too much!

Balloon Couture

The things idle hands will come up with - Crazy! what happened to knitting and cross stitch.
The competition is fierce with designs closely guarded until there showing. Aghh the pressure!

Sydney Design Festival 08

Sydney Design Festival is in full swing again. Fuzz has been selected to be a part of the Young Blood Designers Market which promises to have some great work by local designers. Im also looking forward to the Design Mart which is running at the same time. Bought together by the people at http://www.designboom.com/ this is an international collection of designer wares - often quite quirky and all for sale - it should be well worth a look.
Design boom is a great site for those interested in design, featuring reports from all the major design events like the Milan Furniture Fair, competitions and whats new in the world of design.

Berlins third Fashion week is in action this week. Intentionally setting itself apart from the established Milan, Paris and New York -Berlin has attracted more off- beat labels. Publicity stunts such as the opening event on a train were bound to impress the gliteratti - and will help put the event on fashion map.

Winter Streetwear Fashion Guide

Half way through winter and still navigating your way around the current fashion must haves and the stay clear of? Here's a few pointers that I have come up with.
Designers are still reinventing the past with reincarnations of bright leggings and retro inspired sneakers. If you want to go the extra mile with your leggings check out http://www.brianlichtenberg.com/ . I say thumbs up - some of the latest sneakers are loads of fun and have taken the humble sneaker to a new level.
Purple is a definite winner this year - stunning deep purple to be precise, looks like it's working best on legs, nails and bags this season . Go for it while you can get away with it.




Sheer, pretty fabrics are also in, as is the scarf of which there is a huge range available. But be warned it's no longer about the heavy woollen scarf or the well worn pasmina ( ok if its minus 5 -if you must). Its the lightweight seventies inspired - I can't help but think of the Doors- that's working. You'll get so much mileage out of your basics by adding a great scarf - combined with those purple nails - look out!

Fuzz at Shona Joy

Fuzz is now stocked at Shona Joys cute little boutique in Hall Street, Bondi.
Shonas range of feminine dresses team well with our rose lariats and antler pendants.
Shona has been part of the Sydney fashion scene for a while now, starting out like Fuzz at Paddington Markets before reaching mass appeal and becoming a part of the David Jones collection.
We really like the way she blends cute with sassy to create pretty but sexy fashion.
We are excited to be a part of this great store and label.
